Tradition of costuming

BY KALEB PORTER

Every year there are millions of kids that dress up each year. But do you know why kids dress up for Halloween? October 31, every year we celebrate Halloween.  It all started in old European traditions. It started with an ancient Celtic festival. In the eighth century people would light fires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. The reason why they were warding off ghosts was to celebrate Halloween. The Druids would make sacred fires. Many people would gather around and burn crops and use animals as a sacrifice to the Celtic deities. During the celebration, the Celtics would wear animal heads and animal skins. They would also try and tell each other fortunes.
