Spinach transplant by Brandon Smith and Marc Carter

Everyone knows that vegetables are good for you, but now they might be even better. Doctors have found a way to clear out the chlorophyll in Spinach and instead replace it with blood. Through a certain process, the plant BEATS. Just like a heart. This synthetic heart has been proven to “meld” into certain parts of an actual heart. Although there has been no full spinach-heart transplant, this has been an incredible step to solving heart illnesses. Since people obviously need their hearts to live, it is very rare for someone to donate their heart to people who need a new one due to disorder or illness. Many patients wait for years until someone passes away and says specifically in their will that they are ok with donating their organs. These cases are very rare. Most patients on this waiting list die before a donor becomes available. This synthetic heart could potentially eliminate the need to wait for a donation and therefore save lives.
