New gear for our soldiers by Tristen Lee and Zach Norwood

Recently the Army's equipment officials were heard stating that their newest combat helmet is going to be much lighter and still provide the same amount of protection as the older model. The Advanced Combat Helmet Generation Two will be replacing the previous model that has been in use for about fifteen years. The new helmet will be made of a high density polyester instead of the old school kevlar that were used in the older model of helmets. The new AHC Gen ll weighs just 2.5 pounds, which is about a 22% lighter. These new helmets are set to be sent to troops soon to see just how they hold up to the rigor of an actual combat situation. Hopefully, they will help to protect troops for years to come.
