Murder in our town by Jade Vignoe

On Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 2:30 a 16-year old boy named Austin Dalton Ivy, shot and killed a woman named Alicia Carr, who is 21-years old. It happened at 400-block of North Allis Street in Jonesboro. Two guys walked up to a house looking for Austin accusing him for a theft that he did earlier that day. Alicia was waiting in the driver’s seat waiting for the two guys to come back. When the boys started walking back, Ivy started shooting at the car. One of the bullets hit Alicia in the back of the head severely wounding her. She was sent to the hospital where she eventually died. Ivy was arrested that day. During the court case, the judge found reasoning to give the 16-year old boy capital murder and ordered him held without bond. He is due in circuit court April 20. If he is convicted, then he would either be sentenced to death or life in prison without parole. Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington’s office is wanting to prosecute Ivy as an adult.
