Dogs 101

Pomeranian
The Pomeranian is one of the most mistaken dogs there is. Many people think they are not smart and are just small pups to fit in your purse. (Although they can be that type of dog.) They are very energetic and are descended from large sled dogs. Their lap dog side causes them to not be okay with being left alone. Their super fuzzy coat makes them very tolerable to cold weather. They can grow from 7 inches to 1 foot tall at the shoulder and weigh from 3 to 7 pounds. 12- 16 years is their average lifespan. The pomeranian struggles with allergies, Epilepsy, eye problems, Hip Dysplasia, Legg- Perthes Disease, Patellar Luxation, Collapsed trachea, and dental problems. This may seem like a lot of problems, however if you take good care of your pom, you will not have to deal with most of these. Their small size, energy, and relaxed side make them good with other dogs and small children. If you get a Pomeranian, you will not regret it!
