Dogs 101: Great Danes

A horse? No, try a dog! The Great Dane is one of the biggest dogs on the planet. These dogs may be huge, but they are known as the “Gentle Giant.” They are working dogs and need daily exercise. They can grow as tall as 2 feet, 4 inches to 2 feet, 10 inches tall. They can weigh anywhere from 100 to 200 pounds and live up to 7 to 10 years. Some common health problems include hip dysplasia, gastric torsion, bone cancer, and heart diseases. Surgery is usually common for most Great Danes. They are good with kids and other animals which makes them great family pets.
