With summer nearing, people need to be more aware while they’re driving. So here are some driving tips to help keep you and others safe while on the road.
- Use your blinker when turning or merging lanes. This helps other drivers know where you’re going, but don’t forget when you merge lanes to also turn your blinker back off.
- Look for cyclists. With beautiful weather becoming more frequent, cyclists are out and about on the roads, so make sure you keep your eye out for them. Don’t forget to look for motor cyclists as well.
- At stop signs, always come to a complete stop and pay attention to whose turn it is. If you’re not sure whose turn it is to go through the intersection at a four way, then motion to the other drivers to go ahead before you.
- Don’t text and drive! As teenagers, it can be hard for some of us to put the phone down; texting and driving can lead to serious injuries. If you have to text someone, then pull over and send them that text or call the person texting you.
