Leap day

Leap day is known as Bachelor’s Day in Ireland. Bachelor’s Day is a traditional holiday in which women propose to men. Scotland began this tradition in 1288 by passing a law permitting women to propose to men and if the men refused, they would be fined.
Another fun fact is that leap day babies are called leaplings, and they are said to have unusual talents.
