  • The fear of Friday the 13th is called friggatriskaidekaphobia.
  • Very little is known about why Friday the 13th is feared.
  • Some historians believe that the superstitions started in the late 19th century when a biography of an Italian composer talked about the day he died, Friday the 13th.
  • Others believe that the superstition has Biblical origins due to the fact that Jesus was crucified on a Friday and 13 guests were at the Last Supper before his crucifixion.
  • Airlines have a reputation of having bad luck on Friday the 13th.
  • There cannot be more than three Friday the 13th in a calendar year.
  • For a month to have a Friday the 13th, it must begin on a Sunday.
  • On Friday the 13th, 2029 an asteroid will fly by the Earth.
