Five totally cool nonprofit organizations

The Canvas Foundation
Image result for canvas foundationThe Canvas Foundation is a pretty awesome non profit organization. It’s dedicated to supporting and promoting art and creativity. Canvas is dedicated to raising support for underfunded art programs in public schools. The way it works is that you can donate money or art supplies; they receive lists from art teachers of the program-specific materials that are required for an art curriculum class. With the help of donations the Canvas Foundation provide the art supplies that are unobtainable by the schools. The three ways that this non profit can gain the supplies that they donate are by: pledging supplies, donating money, or by purchasing the rather cute apparel that they have on their websites.

Music Saves Lives

They inspire people with a simple concept- connecting music and entertainment we all love to life-saving community action. They stated their mission to educate about the importance of blood donation and the bone marrow registry, sharing information, educating, and empowering youth. Music Saves Lives encourages participation, and commitments, like donating blood, running a blood drive, and registering for the marrow program to save those with leukemia and other blood disorders.  There are several ways that you can help out this organization; you can buy any of their wristbands or apparel, donate money, or you can donate blood, and you could get a chance of meeting one of your favorite bands.

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus
Image result for john lennon educational tour busIn its 18th year, this awesome bus is dedicated to providing young people with tours of studios and participation in free songwriting and multimedia production workshops. With the help of three on-board engineers, students learn how to write, perform, record, and produce original songs, produce and shoot music videos and documentaries and complete a broadcast quality music video. There are quite a few different ways people participate in this Educational tour bus. The way you can help with this nonprofit is just by donating.

Music and Memory

This nonprofit is by far my favorite and holds a special place in my heart. The Music and Memory organization brings personalized music into the lives of the elderly through digital music technology, improving quality of their life. They train nursing home staff and other elder care professionals, along with family, how to create personalized playlists using iPods and other digital audio systems  that enable those who struggle with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other cognitive and physical challenges to reconnect with the world through music-triggered memories. They aim to make it this a form of personalized therapeutic music a standard of care throughout the healthcare industry. There are a few ways that you can help out this nonprofit: you can get trained or you can donate money. Another way you can help this nonprofit out is by volunteering by promoting an iPod donation drive, raising awareness in the community, or by becoming an ambassador.
