In English 12, we read the book The Shallows by Nicholas Carr. In this book he proposes the argument that the Internet is mind-altering and powerful. As we stay on the Internet, the more distracted we get and the more we become addicted to the idea of social media and getting likes on a photo or status. Some people are not like this. They don’t let the Internet change the way they think. Those people would say that the Internet “dumbs down” our brain. There are pros and cons of the Internet, but is it really good or bad?
