Just before midnight on Monday, September 7th, 2015, Paragould Police began the pursuit of a maroon SUV driving at high speeds. The chase consisted of the driver of the SUV running multiple stop signs, breaking multiple traffic laws, driving recklessly and at high speeds through the city and the county. Later identified as 18 year old Brandon Austin Crossno, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. He left behind his juvenile passenger, his driver's license, and a bag containing methamphetamine residue. The search for Crossno had no luck until the Greene County Sheriff’s Department received a call about a man asleep in the middle of the highway in Hooker, AR. Two deputies arrived shortly after and took the man, which turned out to be Crossno, into custody. Crossno faces felony counts of fleeing and possession of methamphetamine. He also faces a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a minor, along with other misdemeanor traffic violations.
